Lewis Hamilton made his F1 debut in 2008. Since then he has made a number of accomplishments. But how does the 7-time World Champion keep in shape and what are his dietary habits?
When he joined the sport he was a meat eater. He used to be a non-vegetarian until later in his career, he started to become an activist. He paid more attention to the problems the world was facing. This made him more aware of what he eats.
In 2019, he started his own fast-food chain and called it Neat Burger. This serves only vegan foods which are completely healthy.
Lewis Hamilton decided to go vegan in 2019. A vegan diet is a diet where there are no meat or dairy-based products. Many have wondered how the driver keeps in shape with a vegan diet.
Is fitness important to be a Formula 1 driver?
The short answer is, Yes. Formula One drivers must be in top shape all the time. A Formula One driver must withstand the G-forces they face during an F1 race. Their heart rate will be at 160 bpm for the entire duration of the race, which is approximately 90 minutes. They will also need power in their arms to steer the car.

Lewis Hamilton said, when asked about the physical demands towards the drivers in the sport, “It’s not like another sport, say basketball. Anyone can go and try being Lebron. We fail but we can go on a court and try. People can’t drive one of these cars. They don’t understand what it is.”
He is trying to convey that being a racing driver is not easy. Not anyone can jump into a Formula 1 car and drive it. The driver will need to have the proper physique and mentality to drive a Formula 1 car.
What does Lewis Hamilton eat?
Lewis gets his nutrients from a completely plant-based diet consisting of falafel, beetroot, vegetable smoothies, etc. He was quoted saying, “When I switched to a plant-based diet, those highs, and lows decreased significantly.” “I’ve also noticed positive effects on my sleep and on my health in general. The benefits keep coming, and I’ve honestly never felt better.”
