Alex Albon is a Thai-British F1 driver for Williams and is 27 years old right now. Albon first started his career in Formula 1 in 2019 as a driver for Toro Rosso. The Thai driver was under the Red Bull Junior team in 2012 when he first participated in the Eurocup Formula Renault series.
After his progress in the Red Bull Junior program, he started competing in Formula 2. He finished third in the Championship Standing which brought him his first Formula 1 contract.
After his years with Toro Rosso, he made his move to Red Bull racing as a teammate for Max Verstappen. Although he spent a while in Red Bull, he failed to handle the heat of being Verstappen’s teammate. Albon won only one race with Red Bull but with his poor performance, he was demoted to being a reserve driver. However, in 2022, he made his comeback with Williams in Formula 1.
Although Albon sees the back of the grid most of the races, he has had his breakthrough throughout the 2023 season. With Williams, his personal best so far has been a P7 in Canada and a P8 at the British Grand Prix. While, Albon drives for Williams, the most asked question of how much the ex-Red Bull driver gets paid remains the same.
Alex Albon earns more after his departure from Red Bull
Alex Albon, as a driver for Williams, bags a salary of $2.5 million. Compared to his salary of $650,000 at Red Bull, he gets paid almost twice as much with his current contract. He also has no worries about his contract for now, since he signed a multi-year contract with Williams effective from 2023. Although he does not make it in the list of highest-paid drivers in Formula 1, he is paid based on his experience in the sport.
Apart from his $2 million salary, he has a net worth of $3 million. While his salary makes up for his self-earned fortune, his endorsements add up to his income. Throughout his career, Alex Albon has endorsed multiple brands. During his time in Toro Rosso, he endorsed CASIO watches.
He also endorsed Moose Craft Cider and a Thai brand PTT Lubricant. As of now, he endorses a motorsports graphic design brand called MDM Designs. The brand also styled his season-launch helmet for the 2023 F1 season.
As for his time in Red Bull, the energy drink brand were his biggest sponsors. Apart from his endorsements, he also owns a house in Monaco. Just like Lando Norris and Max Verstappen, he brought himself a place to live in Monaco.
