It’s been a great year so far for Pokemon fans who were looking for new content and activities to do in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games. As the year draws to an end, it is set to get even more exciting as Nintendo has announced the coming of the latest DLC Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. The upcoming DLC named The Indigo Disc is the second part of Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.
In September the fans received the first expansion titled The Teal Mask. This took players to a new area called Kitakami. It included a new storyline for players to follow. It also allowed players to catch both new and returning Pokemon including the legendaries Ogerpon and the Loyal Three.
When is the Pokémon Indigo Disk DLC releasing?
Fortunately, unlike Pokemon Sword and Shield, fans will not have to wait long to get their hands on the second DLC expansion. The Indigo Disk is all set to launch on December 14, 2023. This second DLC will continue the story established in The Teal Mask.
Also, this time around, players will be heading to Blueberry Academy as an exchange student. Besides, they will be able to participate in a bunch of different activities, such as the BB League, and take on a variety of new quests.
Players can also expect new legendaries as well as over 100 returning Pokemon to arrive in the game. These will include all starter creatures from past generations belonging to the core series and they can be encountered in the Terarium. In addition to new content and things to do, The Indigo Disk will also give the legendary monsters Koraidon and Miraidon a powerful new ability.
Fans react to The Indigo Disc announcement
The announcement of The Indigo Disc received a largely positive response from the fans. Meanwhile, several fans are wondering why such a massive permanent upgrade was not focused on in the marketing. On the other hand, several other fans had a more negative approach.
One of the users pointed out that this DLC would have been a really handy one to have before the end of the game’s lifecycle. A group of fans are also fearful that the new mechanic would lead to more technical issues for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet while playing. Considering the new flying feature, users believe that flying high enough could possibly stop Pokemon from rendering below, which can help the frame rate stay consistent.
Nevertheless, fans pointed out that one of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s biggest drawbacks has not been addressed since the main game launched in 2022, and it continues in the DLC. Performance as well as technical issues have consistently caused disappointment among the players.
They complained of poor texture quality, rendering and pop-in issues, framerate drops, and more. Unfortunately, these issues carried over into The Teal Mask and fans are of the opinion that these will carry to The Indigo Disk as well.
