Ever since Sony announced the launch of PlayStation 5’s handled remote, the gaming fans have been keeping a keen eye on any updates regarding the new device. Recently, Sony delighted its fans by revealing the official name for the remote. The new PS5 handheld remote will be called ‘PlayStation Portal.’
The PlayStation Portal will help bring the entire PS5 experience to the palm of one’s hand. The remote comes with key features such as the DualSense wireless controller, adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. The remote will also feature a vibrant 8-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution at 60fps. The screen will provide an HD visual experience.
The remote will be the perfect device for home gamers, as they no longer need to share their living room TV or go to another room to play PS5 games. The device will remotely reconnect the PS5 over Wi-Fi. PlayStation Portal will support all PS5 games that are installed on the connected console using the Dualsense controller.

Additionally, as per PlayStation’s blog, it also comes with a 3.5mm audio jack for wired audio. However, games that require the headset, or are streamed through PlayStation Plus Premium’s cloud streaming as well as PS VR2 games are not supported on the portable.

PlayStation Portal will be priced at 199.99 USD, 219.99 EURO, 199.99 GBP, and 29,980 YEN respectively. In India, players can buy the device for Rs 16,500.
PlayStation Portal availability
PlayStation is yet to announce the availability of the new PlayStation Portal. However, fans can expect the remote to be available on the official PlayStation stores as well as the website. Besides, it will be available in all major retail stores and e-commerce websites.
PlayStation Portal release date
PlayStation has not yet revealed the exact date for the release. However, it is expected to hit the shelves later this year, probably in November.
How to pre-order PlayStation portal?
PlayStation fans will have the option of pre-ordering from the PlayStation Direct store in the next few weeks. The company has not officially opened the pre-orders for the device, however, now that PlayStation has given it an official date, the pre-orders will start soon.
