No one else enjoys making headlines more than the richest man on earth, Elon Musk. The business magnate has his hands in multiple businesses, of course, but he also has a notorious side that he keeps showing the world from time to time. He’s back at it and this time around it has a gaming twist.
The SpaceX CEO’s interest in gaming and online video games is not particularly surprising since he has publicly expressed his love for video games and even named some of his favorite ones during interviews and other appearances. Interestingly, Overwatch is one of his most favorite games.
He has also made appearances at gaming events and more. Just last month he was seen at the Valorant Champions 2023 event held at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles, California with one of his kids. However, this time around the gaming connection was rather bizarre.
Elon Musk confirms Amber Heard cosplaying as Mercy from Overwatch
An X (formerly Twitter) post claimed that according to a new Elon Musk autobiography, he apparently asked his ex-girlfriend and Hollywood actress Amber Heard to cosplay as the famous Overwatch character Mercy. Surprisingly, the X owner replied to that tweet confirming that the actress did in fact dress up as the game character.
He did not stop there. He further added that it was fun, and even shared a private picture of her dressed up as the character to support his claims.

Naturally, the post and the comment attracted a lot of hilarious comments and replies from the users. One user named ‘Jakeisfake’ replied to the tweet asking if Elon had any costume, while heard dressed as Mercy. To this another user by the name ‘Matty’s Finds’ joked, “he was genji”

Musk and Heard dated each other between 2016 and 2017. According to the Walter Isaacson’s biography of Musk, the investor liked the fact that the Justice League actress looked like Overwatch character Mercy, who is a blonde female support character. Mercy is seen sporting angelic wings attached to her battle suit and a halo-esque hairpiece. Reportedly, Musk flew out to see Heard when she was filming Aquaman in Australia in 2017.
The biography further details that, “[Musk] told her that she reminded him of Mercy, his favorite character in […] Overwatch, so she spent two months designing and commissioning a head-to-toe costume so she could role-play for him.”
Regardless of the consequences, the fans had a blast looking at Amber Heard cosplaying as one of the more beloved characters from the series, who is known for her healing capabilities, turning the tide of a match should the need arise.
