While playing the Trials of Osiris weekend in Destiny 2 players discovered game-changing exploit that allows a way through crafting to equip Exotic weapon perks on Legendary gear. It is a pretty significant bug that the players have discovered and inspite that the developer Bungie is in no hurry to fix the issue.
Bungie has decided not to disable Trials of Osiris or PVP because of the bug. In fact, Bungie even encouraged players to “have some fun” with the exploit. Unique bugs appearing in Destiny 2 is nothing new for Bungie. Over the span of close to 10-years now the game has seen several such bugs.
We’re exploring all potential solutions and keeping an eye out in case things get TOO wild and we need to take drastic measures to ensure the health of the game.
In the meantime, let’s all have some fun! Igneous Hammer will come back to Trials ASAP. https://t.co/4UsA1cCaQS

And the game has seen it all, from insignificant visual bugs to major game breaking issues. Notable a number of them have been caused by Telesto.
What is Destiny 2 Crafting Bug?
For more than a day now Destiny 2 players have been flooding the internet with the glitch they discovered while crafting weapons. The bug enables players to apply any craftable exotic perks to legendary weapons. While many of the examples of the bug exploits have appeared online, a famous YouTuber Destiny Bulletin, flaunted how the bug works by applying the Screaming Swarm intrinsic trait from Osteo Striga to the legendary IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.3 while crafting.
At the moment, the bug only allows players do it to exotics that can be crafted. Therefore the collection of available perks is more or less limited. However, the players have already discovered more than a few exciting weapon builds.
Interestingly, several players in the community have also begun to bother about what sort of chaos the bug could possibly unleash inside Trials of Osiris over the coming weekend, particularly, with the possibility of facing enhanced 1 shot bows with exotic perks now.
As soon as the community began reporting the bug, it quickly reached the doors of Bungie however, surprisingly, they took a unusual stance on the matter. It was expected that Bungie would issue an emergency hot fix or even disable the Trials of Osiris. However, Bungie stated that it was working on a fix and is planning to reset these weapons in the future.
It further went on to say that for now, players can simply have fun and that they would only intervene if it was extremely necessary, if things went too far off the rails to the point where the health of Destiny 2 would need to be protected.
It is indeed surprising to see Bungie react in such a calm way known what sort of chaos it can lead to over the weekend. But it is not the first time Bungie is reacting this way. A similar, but less impactful bug is also currently happening in another Bungie game, Crucible.
Post the introduction of the Multiplex map in Season of the Witch, the gamers found out that they could summon their sparrow vehicle, which is not actually allowed in the game. Bungie revealed that players were having fun with it, so it would not fix the bug right away.
