And as players get accustomed to the new system, they are eager to know how to quickly rank up faster in the competitive ladder.
One of the biggest changes introduced in the system is that the universal rank ranging from Silver to Global Elite players had in CS:GO will now change. The new reiteration has also brought in a visible elo numbering system. This makes the competitive part of the game significantly more transparent.
Ranks and Ratings in CS2
Players can their placement rating in Counter-Strike 2, by winning 10 matches. The ratings will start at zero and go up to 40,000. Once players are given a particular rating for the map, they will have to play and win more matches if they want to improve your rating and reach a higher rank.
Each of the ranks in CS2 will have their own designated color. With every 5000 elo, players will get a different color. Although the rating system in CS2 does not completely replicate the one in CS:GO, it is not too difficult to assign a color to a particular rank from the precious title.
Here is a an approximate estimate:
- Grey (Silver – Gold Nova): 0 – 4,999 elo
- Light Blue (Gold Nova – MG): 5,000 – 9,999 elo
- Blue (MG – LE): 10,000 – 14,999 elo
- Purple (LEM – Supreme): 15,000 – 19,999 elo
- Pink (Supreme – Global): 20,000 – 24,999 elo
- Red (Global): 25,000 – 29,999 elo
- Yellow/Gold (Global): 30,000+ elo
Remember that the color and the corresponding ranking system from CS:GO is a rough approximation and should be used more as a roadmap, and not exactly as it is.
Ranks can be increased in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2)’s Premiere Mode by playing more games and winning them. Whenever a match begins, the game will by default mention the amount of elo that players will be able to win or lose depending on the final outcome of the match.
The individual performance of players such as the kills and deaths will not affect elo loss or gain by alot of margin. However, one cannot deny that wins will help them compound the elo gain.
The win-streaks and loss-streaks of players will accumulate the amount of elo the player gains or loses with every match. However, the amount will be distinct based on the rating the player is at. The gain amount is much more in lower ranks, and the amount a player loses significantly increases as the player proceeds higher in the Premier rating system.
