MrBeast runs perhaps the most entertaining and addictive YouTube channel. Filled with absurd yet enjoyable challenges and games, one can’t help but watch his content. However, as with any popular YouTuber, none of it would be possible without his crew.
For the most part, MrBeast’s crew has seen various iterations. As such, members of the crew tend to move on after some time for various different reasons. However, there has been a lot of mystery as to why one member in particular, Jake The Viking, truly left the group.
Recently, Jake Franklin was on a live stream, when suddenly he was bombarded with questions about his former teammate Chris Tyson.
Speaking about Chris’ recent HRT transformation, he said, “My personal opinion? Think it’s weird, but whatever. I never expected it to happen. When I was there, he was always the Boy Scout. Like look at my Southern sh*t and all that. I don’t know dude”. With Jake leaving around the time Chris revealed his bisexuality and Karl Jacobs‘ first appearance, many have stated various theories.
For one, many suggested that Jake could likely be homophobic, which may be why he was keen to leave, especially with Chris and Karl around. As such, he would have escaped the infamous ‘Karl Effect’. However, it is to be noted that Karl was only promoted to be an onscreen member only after Jake’s resignation.
Why Did Jake really leave the MrBeast channel?
Although many felt that Jake was not happy with Chris’ bisexuality, it may not have been the case either. According to Jake’s comments on his live stream, it appeared as though he had found out about Chris’ transformation only after leaving the group.
Further, Jake believes that at the end of the day, everybody deserves to be happy. “If Chris doing this transitioning to become a woman is making him happy, cool. Doesn’t bother you, doesn’t me the end of the day, don’t f***ing care”.
Thus, it appears as though, all of the rumors were seemingly disproved by Jake. However, it still begs the question, why did Jake truly leave MrBeast and Co.? For the most part, Jake was very good friends with the rest of the crew. As for MrBeast aka Jimmy Donaldson himself, he and Jake are still on good terms to this day.
In the live stream, Jake reveals that he was sent some of MrBeast’s chocolate, Feastables as well. As such, Jake states that he would still be open to returning for a video if asked.
Previously, Jake stated that he was not being able to do all the things he wanted to whilst being a part of MrBeast. Thus, in order to build his own brand and do the things he wanted to, Jake felt that parting ways was the best possible solution. Since then, Jake has been doing well and creating the kind of content that he always wished to.
Currently, Jake is signed on with the E-sports organization, Misfits Gaming. Thus, he is able to stream video games and provide entertainment for his audience the way he wanted to. Further, his YouTube channel consists of going and exploring haunted places. Most recently, Jake also dipped his toes into influencer boxing, fighting on the Misfits X DAZN Series 006. In his first fight, Jake took on Minikon and was held to a split draw.
