The popular battle royale game Apex Legends has launched its mid-season patch for its ongoing season Ignite. The patch introduces a variety of balance changes, updates to weapons as well as legends, adjustments to maps and modes, and a lot more.
The game is also set to have a new takeover mode in collaboration with the upcoming game Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The Apex Legends x Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth event turns out to be a first of its kind introducing several first-time additions and elements to the game such as the Universal Heirloom.
Weapon buffs and nerfs in Apex Legends Ignite mid-season update
The latest mid-season patch introduced to Apex Legends Ignite season includes some impactful updates to weapon balance. Quite a few guns have witnessed damage adjustments as follows:
- R99 SMG
The damage of the R99 SMG was reduced from 12 to 11. This change can possibly push the R99 out of favor in comparison to other alternatives.
- CAR SMG
The CAR SMG also witnessed a damage nerf, from 13 down to 12. It will be interesting to see how much this nerf impacts the CAR’s viability.

Mastiff
– Tactical reload time reduced to 0.9 (was 1.03)
– Empty reload time reduced to 1.6 (was 1.7)
– Draw Time reduced to 0.45 (was 0.8)R99

- Mastiff
The Mastiff shotgun received several buffs in the mid-season update. It now has faster reload times, quicker draw time, etc. These changes can help the Mastiff compete with the other weapons more effectively.
- Tactical reload time reduced to 0.9 (was 1.03)
- Empty reload time reduced to 1.6 (was 1.7)
- Draw Time reduced to 0.45 (was 0.8)
In addition to this, R-301 rifle and Volt SMG would be returning to floor loot after being removed from the crafter. In replacement, the Hemlok and Alternator will now require crafting to obtain in Apex Legends.
Mixtape changes made
The mid-season patch also introduces changes to map rotation as follows:
Control
- Hammond Labs and Production Yard have been removed, while Lava Siphon and Caustic Treatment have been introduced.
Gun Run
- The Core, Estates, and Wattson’s Pylon are no longer included, and Skulltown, Fragment East, and ZEUS Station are included.

TDM
- ZEUS Station, Skulltown, and Phase Runner are replaced by Wattson’s Pylon, Party Crasher, and Overflow.
The update also makes new addition to mixtapes:
- New Legend voice lines that occasionally play on respawn have been added
- In response to a recent change wherein the game counts assists in Control and TDM based on the whole team and not just within an individual squad, the rating reward for assists in Control 5 per assist, which was earlier 20, has been lowered.

Certain legends in the game also received updates thanks to the new Apex Legends Ignite mid-season patch:
Catalyst
- The Piercing Spikes of Catalyst will now require line-of-sight to an enemy player to activate itself. Additionally, spikes that have not been activated will still slow players.
Horizon
- The Horizon audio to make “falls” less silent has been improved. Hard landing audio has been modified to match other legends, while soft landings will now play audio in the world ( not just for Horizon ). On the other hand, the Gravity Lift exit audio range has been increased to make it easier to listen to characters who exit.

Newcastle
- The impact will now destroy Conduit’s Energy Barricade mines in the castle
- Mobile Shield can be destroyed by enemy Crypto EMP
- The balance adjustments from the season 19.0 patch which were delayed are now fully integrated
Rampart
- Amped Walls will no longer be destroyed by friendly Crypto EMP or Mad Maggie’s Wrecking Ball
Apart from these, the Apex Legends Ignite mid-season patch also makes changes to the maps and world systems along with bug fixes and considerable balanced changes.
