WWE video games are extremely popular among the fans. With that, fans have often wondered how much WWE superstars make from being a part of the video games. Meanwhile, a 47-year-old veteran has recently opened up on the matter.
The 47-year-old veteran is none other than Maven Huffman. For the unknown, Huffman is a professional wrestler, YouTuber, and television personality. He is popular among fans for his tenure at WWE. During his time in the Stamford-based promotion, he won the WWE Hardcore Championship three times.
With that, Huffman, on his YouTube channel, has recently revealed how much money WWE stars make for being in video games. He said, “The very first time you get scanned to be a video game character, you’re going to get a royalty payment. This was a very good royalty payment. They’re pretty much buying your rights. To be used not only in this game but in subsequent games in the future.”
He then added that once the video game company buys the wrestlers’ rights, they will pay the star for every game he or she will be featured in. Maven also mentioned that the pay moving forward will not be as big as the first one. However, the WWE star will get “a little bit of something.”
With that, the former WWE star went on to reveal the royalty payments. He stated that his royalty payments ranged between $2000 and $7000. He further stated that the payment of the superstar is determined by their position in the show. Huffman mentioned that superstars such as The Rock, The Undertaker, Trish Stratus, and others received “a ton more” money.
Finally, the former WWE star said that after the first scan, when the video game company brought his rights, they paid him a whopping $30,000. He added that it was the royalty payment he got for being a part of the video game. Thus, it can be understood that WWE stars earn a good amount of money for being part of video games.
