BKFC 41 promises to be one of the biggest non-UFC events in a long time. Following the success of KnuckleMania 2, the BKFC will be looking to outdo themselves with this one. As such, one man who can help them do so will be Eddie Alvarez.
Former UFC lightweight champion, Alvarez makes his return to action in the co-main event of BKFC 41. Taking on another former UFC fighter in Chad Mendes, there is a lot of hype behind this one. Although the highlight of the show is expected to be Luke Rockhold vs Mike Perry, there is no doubt that a lot of people will be attracted by the co-main event as well.

Having parted ways with the UFC, Eddie set sail to different shores with ONE FC. However, despite his initial excitement, Eddie’s time with the promotion was far from ideal. As such, his time with the Singaporean combat sports promotion ended in 2021. At the time, Alvarez left the promotion amassing a 1-2 record along with 1 no-contest.
Thus, with BKFC, Eddie has the chance to make things right and prove his worth. As such, the organization has gifted him a golden opportunity, giving him the co-main spot in his debut. Moreover, with him taking on a well-known name in Chad Mendes, it will do wonders for the 39-year-old’s career, should he win.
How much money will Eddie Alvarez make at BKFC 41?
As always, money is a big topic of discussion when it comes to fighting for any promotion. For the most part, many fighters have often stated that they are making more than what the UFC offered them. Recently, we took a look at how much money Luke Rockhold and Mike Perry are making for their fight. However, in many cases, there is not a significant gap between what they are making now and what they were making with the UFC.
According to Eddie, ONE FC made him an offer that he could not refuse. As per “The Underground King” he was offered eight figures and the chance to be a partner in the promotion. Thus, he took the chance rather than renewing his UFC contract. Now, Eddie feels impressed with the work that David Feldman has done with the BKFC and is willing to partner with him.
Previously, Eddie’s opponent, Chad Mendes revealed that he was being paid an exorbitant amount for his BKFC debut. Comparing his payout to that of Francis Ngannou’s $642,000 from UFC 270, Mendes stated that he was making more than the heavyweight champion. Thus, if that stays true, then Eddie, who is clearly a bigger draw, will make a similar amount for his fight as well. As such, the amount, if true, would eclipse the hefty $540,000 Eddie made against Conor McGregor at UFC 205.
Although these numbers are unlikely to be confirmed, we’ll just have to take the fighter’s words for these claims. As for Alvarez, he is keen to get into bare-knuckle fighting as it is reminiscent of his roots in Kensington. Having fought in more street fights than regulated fights, Alvarez feels right at home at BKFC. Thus, with the freedom that he has in his contract, Eddie is free to explore and discuss his future every step of the way.
