Jon Moxley is one of the most unorthodox wrestlers of all time and has made a name for himself during his time in the WWE. His raw and brutal fighting style helped him to assert a dominant position in the company. Moxley has been truly unfiltered during his promos and segments in WWE. After being released from the company in 2019, Moxley ventured his way to the AEW and various other wrestling promotions.
The former WWE Champion made his AEW debut back in 2019 and instantly transitioned himself professionally. From being a goofy and fun-loving character in the Staamford-based promotion, Moxley quickly showed his extreme hardcore personality during his time in Tony Khan-led promotion. He even ventured to NJPW and various other independent wrestling promotions to display his extreme style.
Since he departed from WWE, Jon Moxley has openly talked about his decision to leave. The WWE Universe surely misses his vibe as well as his promo segments. While talking in several interviews, Moxley has been asked about his return to the Stamford-based promotion and whether he will ever return or not. Jon stated that he is open to receiving a phone call from the company but doubts if they will agree on the same page ever again.
He stated, “If they called I would listen, but I highly doubt we would ever be on the same page”. He further stated, “I’d be open to an idea. I don’t not like money. I got a kid on the way and gotta put it through college so ya know. I would take a phone call, but I highly doubt anything would materialize”.

Moxley even hinted at his possible return, stating “Never Say Never”, when asked about his return. Only time will tell if the former ‘The Shield’ Member will make his return or not.
Why Did Jon Moxley decide to leave WWE?
Dean Ambrose was a character who looked larger than life to the audience. The way he carried himself throughout his time at WWE looked raw and exciting. Moxley’s dedication to the sport shone through in his rivalries against AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, and many other top-tier wrestlers. During 2019, the ideas WWE had for Moxley were ’embarrassing’ for him.

Jon Moxley’s last days in the company were not liked by the former Money in The Bank winner. He revealed during various interviews how bad he felt before leaving the company. Moxley has openly talked about his relationship with Vince McMahon and how they never agreed on the same point.
Vince McMahon might be one of the main reasons behind Moxley’s unfortunate departure. However, the WWE Universe liked his hardcore wrestling style, over-the-top promos, and unmatched vibe. It will be interesting to see when Jon again decides to run back to the Stamford-based promotion after having such a decorated career.
