In the lead-up to UFC 202, Conor McGregor referred to Nate Diaz as the Homer Simpson, leaving a lot of fans chuckling in the process.

In a recent post on his social media platform, Conor McGregor posted a photo of himself, giving a reference to Homer Simpson as visible on his trousers. Homer Simpson is a fictional character from the hit American TV sitcom The Simpson, who has often find himself in a series of hilarious memes and references in pop culture and even in combat sports.
Earlier, Conor McGregor had made headlines after he compared Nate Diaz to Homer Simpson ahead of his hugely anticipated rematch against Nate Diaz back at UFC 202.
“You ever see that episode of The Simpsons where Homer starts boxing?” McGregor said on Friday. “He’s competing, he’s just sitting in the ring and getting the head slapped off him. Boom, boom, boom. And then just the guy can’t punch him no more. And then Homer tips him and the guy falls over.”
“That was similar. That’s the way Nate was in that fight. He was like Homer Simpson.”
“He just took the shots until I couldn’t hit him no more. He’s gonna be no different this fight. He’s gonna just take the shots and hope that I can’t hit him no more. Only, I’m gonna be still there poking him in the face. So, I look forward to it.” McGregor had said.

In a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan opined that the next fight of Conor McGregor is certainly going to be a trilogy fight with Nate Diaz. He looked excited as announced it, and guaranteed the fact that McGregor is not getting a shot at Dustin Poirier in his comeback fight.
“Oh my god, that’s next. The third one’s next, I guarantee you. That’s it, that’s the fight, you can’t go right back out to Dustin.”
Needless to say, it will be exciting to see Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz share the Octagon once again. Both Diaz and McGregor share popularity like no others and stand as two of the most impactful fighters in the history of combat sports entertainment.
