Joe Burrow’s injury has been a huge blow for the National Football League NFL team, the Cincinnati Bengals. The star quarterback for the franchise is an integral part of the team. It certainly has become more difficult for them. Burrow has been essential for their recent success, and in his absence, the rest of the players will have to step up.
Joe Burrow got injured against the Baltimore Ravens on November 16. He could be seen shaking his head as he made his way out of the field and jogged off towards the locker room. Burrow has injured his right wrist and will be undergoing surgery.
He is all set to miss out on the rest of the season. Joe Burrow has been through a similar situation before, with a season-ending injury during his rookie year. He tore his ACL and MCL in the left knee, which brought his season to an end.
AJ McCarron has been promoted to the active roster with Joe Burrow being named on the injured reserve list
The Cincinnati Bengals have officially placed Joe Burrow on the team’s injured reserve list. The team released the list on November 25. Head coach Zac Taylor confirmed on November 24 that Joe Burrow will be placed on the IR list before the weekend.
Backup quarterback Jake Browning will be taking the place of Joe Burrow for now. Moreover, AJ McCarron has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster as well. This is an automatic elevation, and McCarron will be demoted to the practice squad once the game gets over on Monday.
We have made the following moves:
-Placed QB Joe Burrow on the Reserve/Injured list
-Returned HB Chase Brown to the active roster from the Reserve/Injured list
-Elevated QB AJ McCarron from the practice squad to the active roster for tomorrow’s game against Pittsburgh

Jake Browning is confident enough to be the starting quarterback for the Bengals. He feels he has worked extremely hard to be able to reach this position to represent the Bengals, and he will not be letting it go. It hasn’t been easy for him, and this opportunity has presented itself after extreme dedication.
“Yeah, I’ve got that chip on my shoulder, and a lot of confidence (because) I’ve had to earn everything,” he said. “This has not been, ‘Hey, you’re the guy, and here’s the keys.’ … I’ve had to earn everything. I’ve had to battle. And here I am, so let’s go”.
AJ McCarron played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. He was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft as the 164th overall pick. He has been with several NFL teams, including the Buffalo Bills, the Houston Texans, and the Atlanta Falcons.

Additionally, AJ McCarron has also played in the XFL for the St. Louis Battlehawks. In 17 regular-season games, he has recorded 109 passes out of 174 pass attempts, with a pass completion percentage of 62.6%. He has 1173 passing yards along with six touchdowns.
It will be interesting to see if AJ McCarron can help the Bengals in the absence of Joe Burrow. Although Jake Browning is currently the starting quarterback, football is a funny game. McCarron’s record is not that impressive, but he still has the potential to step up.
