Former unified light-welterweight champion Amir Khan will step inside the Manchester Arena ring this weekend to take on his British rival Kell Brook in a grudge match. It is needless to say that all eyes will be on King Khan as he makes his return after a lengthy gap of two years.
The British fighter last fought against Billy Dib in July 2019, where he defeated Dib via TKO in the fourth round after the Australian boxer’s corner threw in the towel. Now he faces a tough test in the form of Kell Brook who is a former unified middleweight champion.
As we lead up to this mega showdown, another reason for the excitement of fans would be due to the ongoing back and forth between these two British rivals. Subsequently, in an interview with Sky Sports, King Khan made a bold allegation against his opponent Kell Brook that he has taken this fight for money.
Amir Khan on Kell Brook: “I don’t think Kell has a chin or can take a good shot. I think his punch resistance is gone, literally gone. I honestly believe he is doing this fight just for that payday.” [@SkySports]

“I don’t think Kell has a chin or can take a good shot. I think his punch resistance is gone, literally gone. I honestly believe he is doing this fight just for that payday,” said Amir Khan.
Brook is coming off a brutal stoppage defeat against Terence Crawford in his last bout and therefore there are a lot of question marks about his chin and ahead of this fight.
Amir Khan intends to hurt Kell Brook and finish his career
This is a very important fight for both Amir Khan and Kell Brook, considering their long history dating back to their amateur sparring days. It is no secret that these two hate each other and their banter was at full display during a SkySports interview that took place yesterday.
King Khan offered his predictions for this gruge showdown and revealed that he is looking for a violent finish against The Special One. I’m just going to go in there and hurt Kell, that’s what I want to do. I don’t want to go in there and just box him, I want to go in there to hurt him and to put him away.
Khan also added that “He’s already got smashed up eye sockets, he’s already been beaten, knocked out, this is the time now where I finish his career off so he never needs to look at boxing again.
In the end, fans cannot wait for this fight to begin because these two boxers have been going hammer and tongs at each other for year’s and they will finally square off against each other in Cardiff on February 19th.
