It promises to be an incredible fight between the two undisputed champions of their respective divisions. Jermell is looking to take the king of the division crown off Canelo’s head. For this, he is being trained by one of the big names in the training world of boxing, Derrick James.
Who is Jermell Charlo’s trainer, Derrick James?
Derrick James is an American boxing trainer and a former professional boxer. A Texan by birth, James’ own fighting career was a pretty modest one. He retired with a professional record of 27-7-1, but he never managed to capture any major titles in his career.
James is the only trainer in the sport who coaches two multi-world title holders, namely welterweight world champion errol spence Jr. and undisputed light middleweight world champion Jermell Charlo. Furthermore, he is also the current trainer of Anthony Joshua, the two-time former unified world heavyweight champion, and Ryan Garcia.
