The reason he couldn’t win Mr. Olympia 2018 was that he was hospitalized four weeks before the competition due to suffering from severe water retention in his body. Later on, he was diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy. But that didn’t stop him and he continued training.
In 2019, Bumstead won his first-ever Mr. Olympia title, which was nearly impossible for him as Breon Ansley was preparing to win his third consecutive title. But Cbum was prepared to win the competition with a better physique than before and also improved poses on stage.
In 2020, the competition was postponed from September to December which gave Cbum more time to prepare. As a result, the Canadian Bodybuilder won his second Mr. Olympia title. Then in 2021, he won the third-consecutive title.
Then the most recent one, in 2022, the legend achieved the remarkable feat when he won his fourth consecutive Mr. Olympia title and became one of the most influential and prominent names in bodybuilding.

It was found that during his young days, Bumstead had torn his other bicep and three days before the competition, he felt a little pain while pulling the weights. He shared that the pain grew with the passing days and on the day of the competition, it became so much that he couldn’t pose much.
