Aryna Sabalenka who recently lost at the semi-finals of Women’s Singles at Wimbledon 2023, is currently enjoying her singles ranking of the world no. 2 as of July 2023. Sabalenka is a Belarusian tennis player who was born on 5th May 1998 in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Her middle name is ‘Siarhiejeŭna’ as she belongs to the Eastern Slavic dissent, the largest ethnic community in Belarus.
She became a pro at the age of 14 when she played her first ITF tournament in Belarus. Sabalenka had a humble beginning and only came to prominence in 2017 when she led her national team to the final of the Federation Cup and won the first biggest title of her promising career, the WTA 125K at the Mumbai Open.

Aryna Sabalenka, 25, who is known for her powerful game, has won 13 WTA singles titles to date in her career with total prize-money earnings of $17 million. Aryna Sabalenka was born to Belarusian parents, Sergey & Yuliya Sabalenka. Her father, who introduced her to the sport, was a former ice-hockey player who died unexpectedly in 2019 at the age of 43. After finishing with 3 WTA titles in the 2019 season she said in one of the media interviews “I’m just trying to fight because my dad wanted me to be No.1, doing it for him so that’s what is helping me to be strong right now.”

Sabalenka picked up the sport at the age of 6 purely by chance, when her father accidentally drove her to a tennis court. She started her formal training at the National Tennis Academy of Belarus when she was only 16. Aryna also has a younger sister, Tonechka Sabalenka, who is 10 years younger than her.

Aryna Sabalenka is currently dating her boyfriend Konstantin Koltsov, who is a professional hockey player from Belarus. The couple first appeared together in public at French Open Paris in 2021 and announced that they were engaged. They maintain a low profile, however, share social media posts occasionally of their happy moments together.
