Alexander Volkanovski has become a notable name in the world of mixed martial arts, more so after his close encounter against Islam Islam Makhachev back at UFC 284.
The UFC featherweight champion moved up a weight class to take on Islam Makhachev in an attempt to become a two-division champion. And while he may have failed to get his hands on the 155lbs belt, Volkanovski surprised fans with his performance and looked incredible against a formidable opponent like Makhachev in the new weight class.

For his incredible outing at UFC 284, Alexander Volkanovski took home a whopping $1 million as his UFC salary. The Australian fighter added more moolah to his pay, with $50,000 as a POTY bonus and reportedly earning $400,000 in PPV shares and $42,000 as a sponsorship bonus. On the night of UFC 284, Alexander Volkanovski went home $1.5 million richer than when he walked inside the Octagon.
Alexander Volkanovski, who has a reported net worth of $3.5 million in 2023, will increase his fortune manifolds as he sees a possible rematch with Islam Makhachev after UFC 290. Chances are, the UFC featherweight could triumph over Charles Oliveira in the race to a title shot should he emerge victorious against Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290.
Alexander Volkanovski fight purse for UFC 290
According to several reports, Alexander Volkanovski will again take home a staggering $1 million as his UFC fight salary for the fight against Yair Rodriguez. The fight purse excludes the PPV shares and bonuses that Volkanovski will receive for headlining UFC 290 in Las Vegas this weekend.
Meanwhile, Yair Rodriguez, who took home $150,000 as his base salary and another $150,000 as a win bonus for his interim title fight against Josh Emmett, will likely take home a lot more than that as he steps inside the Octagon for his first PPV headliner this weekend.

Former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker will also make his presence felt against Dricus du Plessis. Meanwhile, fighters like Bo Nickal and Dan Hooker will look to break into the top ranks. Robbie Lawler will step inside the cage for the last time in his career, taking on Niko Price in the main event of the preliminary card.
