Scoot Henderson comes from a family that loves sports. Being the youngest of seven siblings, “Scoota” has three eldest sisters who were NCAA Division 1 basketball players. His father was a coach as well. So it’s not any secret where he gets his inspiration from. Henderson competed for Carlton. J. Kell High School alongside one of his brothers. Based on his career at Carlton, he received a lot of attention from recruits of various colleges.
In most years, Scoot Henderson would be the consensus No. 1 overall pick. Some of the best athleticism ever seen at the point guard position.

The 19-year-old was a certified bucket in high school. He could score from anywhere on the court. Henderson was also very versatile as a player showing potential on both sides of the court.
After having several 40+ and 50+ point games, Scoot was named Class 5A Player of the Year in his sophomore year. He also earned All-Star honors from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. According to Bleacher Report, he averaged 31 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists per game in his last year in high school.
To everyone’s surprise, Scoot Henderson decided to skip his senior year in high school to play professionally. He once revealed that multiple colleges were trying their hardest to recruit him. Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Virginia Tech, and Kentucky were a few that approached him. He became the all-time leading scorer at Carlton. J. Kell High School 1,493 points to his name.

As a result of his hard work, Henderson was a five-star recruit and one of the top-ranked athletes in Georgia. He signed a contract with the NBA G League Ignite eventually making his professional debut in November 2021.
He became the youngest G League player ever as he averaged 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game. Henderson also represented the Ignite against Victor Wembanyama‘s Metropolitans 92 team’s visit to the US. Scoot is projected to be drafted No.2 overall by the Charlotte Hornets.
