Hell in a Cell will be WWE‘s fifth big show of the calendar year. The show will take place in Rosemont, Illinois, on 5th June 2022. The show will feature seven matches, with one match inside the Hell in a Cell structure. Traditionally, Hell in a Cell has been used as a place to settle scores from long-running rivalries.

With the upcoming premium live event around the corner, here are five things you must know before watching WWE Hell in a Cell 2022.
5. There will be only one ‘Hell in a Cell’ match
The Hell in a Cell show was introduced in 2009. On average, WWE has always booked two HIAC matches in these shows. But this time, there will be only one match inside the structure featuring Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes.

There will be no women’s HIAC match this time, which has become a staple over the years. SO far, there have been four women’s HIAC matches. The HIAC match is normally added as a stipulation to those feuds which is most deserving. Hence. WWE decided to go ahead with the Rollins vs. Rhodes rivalry.
4. None of the men’s top singles championships will be featured on the show
The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns signed a new WWE contract with a more relaxed schedule in terms of appearances. Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE TV since WrestleMania Backlash and will not be appearing at the Hell in a Cell premium live event.

With Reigns absent, there will be no WWE Championship match or the Universal Championship match. Instead, the show will feature other top names, which will make Reigns’ absence felt by the fans. Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins is believed to be the main event of the night.
3. Mustafa Ali’s first major show since 2021
Ali went on a hiatus from WWE due to creative having no plans for the former Cruiserweight Champion. He aired his grievances on social media as he claimed to want his release from the company. But he returned to WWE in April and has been involved in a feud with United States Champion Theory.
It will be Mustafa Ali’s first major WWE show since his return. His last premium live event/pay-per-view appearance took place in Crown Jewel in October 2021, which he lost to Mansoor.
2. Ronda Rousey’s first SmackDown Women’s title defense
Ronda Rousey became the SmackDown Women’s Champion at WrestleMania Backlash after beating Charlotte Flair. Since then, Charlotte has been absent from WWE TV and subsequently got married last month. But, Ronda Rousey has been an active feature on the blue brand.

The Baddest Woman in the Planet will now defend her SmackDown Women’s title for the first time in her WWE career. In a recent six-pack challenge, Natalya emerged as the No.1 contender for Rousey’s title as she defeated Shayna Baszler, Aliyah, Shotzi, Xia Li, and Raquel Rodriguez.
1. No Tag-Team Championship match at Hell in a Cell
WWE has now gone two premium live events without a tag team championship match. After The Usos unified the RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Championships, they lost a match against Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura. A potential tag team championship match was teased, but it has not been added to the match card.

Reports suggest that WWE didn’t plan any match between The Usos, Riddle, and Nakamura. Hence, there will be no Bloodline or RK-Bro at the Hell in a Cell premium live event. They are not scheduled for a match, but there are chances that the Undisputed Tag Team Champions – The Usos and Riddle and Nakamura, might make an appearance on the show.
