3-time WWE Women’s Champion Asuka recently made her return on the latest episode of Monday Night RAW. WWE has a history of holding back Japanese wrestlers due to a mismatch in communication. Japanese wrestlers didn’t speak much English. But Asuka has proved herself as a fan favorite, and WWE has yet to realize her potential. Here’s why Asuka is revered by the WWE Universe.

1. Asuka is one of the best in-ring performers on the whole roster
When Asuka arrived at NXT in 2015, she immediately started making an impact. She created a record of staying undefeated for 914 days. She had great classics in NXT. WWE destroyed her credibility as a top star when she got promoted to the main roster.
But, Asuka has hardly had a lackluster match. She is an efficient submission expert. Her Japanese wrestling style is always guaranteed to put on a great show.

2. Asuka’s charisma and personality
Asuka is Japanese and finds it hard to communicate in English during her promos. She speaks Japanese for the most part but occasionally uses broken English along with her mannerisms. But because of her sheer charisma and personality, it never fails to let the WWE universe know what her intentions are.

She even commentated on a match between Rey Mysterio and former WWE Superstar Andrade, alongside Jerry The King Lawler. She was very entertaining and the fans loved it. WWE should realize that the Empress of Tomorrow is never ignored when she starts talking.
3. She is a social media guru
WWE expects its superstars to be active on social to maintain their connection with the audience. Asuka has excelled in this medium. Her constant use of gifs and tumultuous photoshopped images have charmed her followers. She also has a YouTube channel by the name KanaChanTV, where she has over 400,000 subscribers.

4. Asuka is an Instagram artist
The Empress of Tomorrow is an incredible Instagram enthusiast. Most WWE Instagram accounts usually share posts about their life in general. But, Asuka’s Instagram primarily consists of hilarious anime and video game content.
She even talks about the games she plays, creates funny video montages, and discusses her YouTube Channel. Asuka has 2.1 million followers and has more than 1000 posts.

5. She carried WWE during the pandemic
When the world came to halt in 2020 due to Covid-19, the Empress of Tomorrow carried the Women’s division and WWE programming. Asuka has been a workhorse for the WWE since she arrived at NXT. She was involved in great matches with superstars like Bayley, Sasha Banks, Zelina Vega, and Niah Jax when there was no live crowd.

Asuka will now feud with Becky Lynch after her triumphant return last Monday. RAW has been exciting in the last few weeks, and Asuka’s return has added more fuel to the show’s momentum. We’ll have to wait and see what’s next for Asuka.
