WWE Fastlane 2023 surely over-delivered in terms of performances and surprises. While the card was fully stacked up with exciting matches, the storytelling had not been up to the mark for the event. The Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis was set on fire throughout the show, which surprisingly went well. It gave us a single title change in Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes winning the Tag Team Championships.
The Undisputed Tag Title match opened the show, and to everyone’s surprise, it was better than expected. However, Damian Priest and Finn Balor went through a lot throughout the match, making Cody and Jey look priceless. The chemistry between Jey and Rhodes was exceptional, as they took out Balor and Priest with a series of tag team moves throughout the match.

Despite having Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh by their sides, Finn Balor and Damian Priest shockingly lost the match. McDonagh looked to help Priest in the match’s closing moments as he went on to attack Cody with the Money in the Bank Briefcase. It backfired The Judgement Day as Damian accidentally took the bump, which later on became their cause of defeat.

With this historic win, Jey Uso has created history by being the only person who has won the Undisputed Tag Team titles twice with different partners. Jey won his first Undisputed Tag Team Championship with his brother, Jimmy Uso before parting ways with the stable. With his impressive performances and stellar growth lately, WWE might have huge plans for Jey shortly.
What’s Next for Jey Uso after winning the Undisputed Tag Titles at Fastlane
Despite their past differences, The American Nightmare and The Main Event, Jey Uso, successfully defeated The Judgement Day. While it was a little out of the box for WWE to make a title change, it is a tough task for anyone to predict where this storyline goes. The Judgement Day’s reign of terror might eventually come to an end soon, and a rematch with Cody and Jey might end the stable once and for all.
While a rematch with Judgement Day is a mere possibility, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will also be looking for their rematch. According to them, they never lost the Tag titles and were cheated twice by Judgement Day. During an interview backstage on RAW, Owens, and Sami were not so happy with Cody and Jey going for the tag titles and not them.
The duo assured everyone that they would be coming after the Tag Team Championships and would regain what they never lost. Additionally, there have been many rumors that Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes might face The Bloodline at Crown Jewel for the titles. Possibilities are endless, which adds a lot of unpredictability to this reign, and it will be interesting to see how things work out between Jey and Cody in the future.
