The LGBTQ community is on its way to gaining worldwide acceptance and WWE has welcomed it too with open arms. Many popular WWE stars shared stories of their life and fans have lent support to these superstars.
While many stars spoke loud and clear of them falling in the community, some have been hesitant to come out of the closet. Despite all the hushes and loud claims, the fans are curious to know the sexuality of their favorite stars. Below are 9 stars from the wrestling industry who fall into the LGBTQ community.
9. Sonya Deville
One of the most open WWE personalities that belong to the LBGTQ community is Sonya Deville. She opened up to the wrestling world as the first gay female wrestler in WWE. It was during her tenure in Tough Enough that she recognized herself as a lesbian and hasn’t stepped back ever since.

Sonya Deville is engaged to Toni Cassano who is a fitness enthusiast. The two are quite expressive about their relationship and never fail to showcase their love in public. The two got engaged back in 2022.
8. Jake Atlas
Jake Atlas does not have an excellent wrestling run at hand. However, what makes him so popular among the fans is his sexuality. He falls into the category of gay wrestlers in the division, marking his place amongst the few wrestlers in the industry.
Jake Atlas opened up about his sexuality to Stephanie McMahon in 2018 during an episode of Celebrity Undercover Boss. Serving in AEW last, he had been released from the promotion following a domestic violence arrest.
7. Mercedes Martinez
Mercedes Martinez hails down the world of professional wrestling as one of the biggest stars. After spending over two decades in the ring, it was in 2019 that Mercedes Martinez came up as a lesbian.

6. Toni Storm
The former WWE NXT UK Women’s Champion – Toni Storm adds to the list of the stars. With her brief yet impressive stint with WWE, Toni Storm earned an identity for herself. “I am an ally, and I can’t exactly say that I’m straight. I’m bi, and it feels good to say it. It’s something I’ve been really comfortable with for a long time,” she said.

It was during her run with the WWE in 2021 that Toni Storm came out as bisexual. However, in 2022, she got married to AEW star Juice Robinson who she had been dating for over two years.
5. Kenny Omega
Kenny Omega is often the topic of interest among wrestling enthusiasts. His rumored dates including Riho, Kota Ibushi and Hikaru Shida have gathered a lot of attention and made him stand in the midst of a bunch of questions about his sexuality.
The AEW star, in one of his interviews, mentioned how his primary focus remained in his career. “I can’t start thinking about you know I need to search for a wife or a boyfriend or I wish I could raise a family,” he further added. He has also kept his mouth shut about his sexuality and said that his fans have the privilege to think of whatever they wish.
4. Tegan Nox
Tegan Nox may not have an extremely impressive career owing to the numerous injuries all her life. However, this couldn’t dull the sparkle that the WWE star carries within her. In 2020, she took to her official Instagram handle to open up about her sexuality to the public.

The 28-year-old star took help from Sonya Deville to break the news to her fans. She revealed herself as being a part of the LGBTQ community. Tegan Nox also feels grateful to Sonya Deville who stood by her throughout.
3. Darren Young
Fred Rosser or Darren Young as the WWE enthusiasts know him by, came out as gay in 2013. The former WWE star became the first gay star while still signed to the company.

Shayna Baszler turns out to be one of the most promising and dedicated stars in the ring. Being one of the four horsewomen of UFC, the former MMA star has come out as a part of the LGBTQ community. Back in 2013, she revealed that she is dating another female.

Talking of her sexuality, the WWE fame doesn’t want to label herself as bi, lesbian or one particular thing. “I’m not one of those people that would color myself black or white; this just happens to be where I’m at right now,” she said on the MMA Roasted Podcast.
