Backlash, the first premium live event after WrestleMania, turned out to be a huge success for WWE. From the crowd to the talents, everyone was fired up for all the matches as action, drama, and hard-hitting were present in the event. Let’s take a look at the results of the successful PPV event:
Bianca Belair defends her championship against Iyo Sky
The match was unexpectedly amazing. The San Juan crowd cheered for both superstars as they put up a worthy contest for them. Bianca Belair showed her power while Iyo Sky was flaunting her high-flying skills.

However, as the match progressed, the RAW Women’s Champion started getting boos as the crowd made the challenger babyface. Bayley and Dakota Kai came to help their stablemate, but Belair was already ready for them. Hence, she managed to retain her title in the kickoff match.
Seth Rollins seals the win over Omos with super stomp
The fan favorite, Seth Rollins again got a very warm reception from the crowd, however, before he could get his jacket off, he was attacked by the Nigerian Giant. As the match started, Omos was manhandling The Visionary with ease. Rollins even tried stomping him, but his effort was blocked by Omos with sheer strength.

In addition to the block, The Nigerian Giant also gave Rollins a chokeslam. Interestingly, the match kept the crowd on the verge of their seats for the whole time. To conclude the match, Rollins had to pull up a stomp from the top rope. Hence, it’s fair to say it was Omos’ best performance in WWE yet.
Austin Theory retained his WWE United States title amid a tussle
As the match got underway, Bronson Reed and Austin Theory allied to attack the All-Mighty. Interestingly, the crowd was cheering for Reed more than Bobby Lashley. On the other side, Austin Theory met with jeers and mocking remarks.

Bronson Reed and Bobby Lashley managed to put on a great show as the two heavyweights hit hard on each other. However, when The All-Mighty speared Reed in the final moments of the match, Theory threw him out of the ring and pinned The Top Dog.
Rhea Ripley defeats Zelina Vega with Riptide
Instead of black, Rhea Ripley made her entrance in white gear with purple accents while Zelina Vega’s entrance outfit had a huge Puerto Rico flag as her cape at Backlash. Hence, both looked great. The Eradicator’s toughness was getting great competition from Vega’s quickness.

Queen Zelina also paid homage to WWE Hall of Famer, Rey Mysterio as she used 619 on Ripley and also the “Viva la Raza”. The crowd was in sheer support of the challenger, however, the match ended quite early with Rhea Ripley slamming Vega with Riptide.
Bad Bunny won against Damian Priest in San Juan Street fight
It was evident from the start that the crowd was rooting for Bad Bunny’s win. However, Damian Priest shoved his former best friend into the corner of the ring to show his power. But the Grammy-winning rapper was not there for a joke. The pair went into the crowd when they were using weapons before Dominik and Finn Balor came to help The Archer of Infamy.

However, their dominance was short-lived as Carlito and Rey Mysterio came in support of Benito. Dominik and Balor were sent back after a beating from Savio Vega and the LWO. To conclude, Bad Bunny‘s Canadian Destroyer was enough.
The Usos and Solo Sikoa keep The Bloodline alive
Interestingly, Paul Heyman wasn’t there to help The Bloodline. Jey Uso and Sami Zayn got things underway. As Jey got Zayn down, he rushed to the corner like he had won the match just to get a clothesline from the former Honorary Uce.

Solo Sikoa and Jey started having issues mid-match as they also started trash-talking. Capitalizing on the opportunity, Sami Zayn hit a couple of Helluva kicks at The Usos, but the pin was saved by Solo. Another intense moment came when The Enforcer was about to give a Samoan Spike to Jey. However, the victory was eventually sealed by the Bloodline at Backlash, with Solo pinning Matt Riddle.
Cody Rhodes defeated Brock Lesnar via pinfall
The American Nightmare got the better of The Beast Incarnate in a bloodied match. Cody Rhodes was really fired up following Lesnar’s attack on him at RAW after WrestleMania. Rhodes attacked Brock Lesnar with a suicide dive before the match even started. He was bashing the Beast Incarnate with ring steps and a steel chair.

Don’t care what anyone says, Lesnar agreeing to bleed to add a little bit more intrigue into the match was great, much respect to him. 🙏🏼 #WWEBacklash pic.twitter.com/bhIlLX2xzN

Even after a highly dominant start and two Disaster Kicks, the Conqueror managed to send Rhodes to the Suplex City. Furthermore, The American Nightmare hit a Cody Cutter followed by two Cross Rhodes to The Beast, but Lesnar kicked out. Thereafter, Lesnar locked him into a Kimura, but Cody Rhodes managed to pin him there. As Backlash counted its final moments, Lesnar looked highly agitated and the fans can expect more from this feud in the coming weeks.
