Jake Roberts, born Aurelian Smith Jr. is a legendary figure in the realm of sports entertainment. From the moment he stepped foot in the squared circle, Roberts captivated audiences with his enigmatic presence and unique in-ring style. Today, Jake “The Snake” Roberts is revered as a living legend, a true pioneer of the squared circle. He was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2014 for his achievements.
Throughout his career, Jake Roberts competed in several prominent wrestling promotions, including WWE, WCW, and various independent circuits. The Snake began his wrestling career back in the 1970s which spanned several decades. After his retirement from in-ring competition, Roberts stayed in the wrestling business working backstage and onscreen as well for different promotions.
He also had a stint in AEW for nearly three years as a backstage producer and manager for Lance Archer. Now, with AEW beginning another show “Collision,” Roberts expressed the wish of contributing to the booking decisions on the show.
On The Snake Pit podcast, WWE Hall of Famer said, “Absolutely. I would love the opportunity. Just give me fifteen minutes a show. Let me put something together … I know that I can help. I’m begging for that job,” on being asked whether he would like to work behind the new Saturday show.
Tony Khan has reportedly appointed wrestlers such as Bryan Danielson and Dax Harwood to help with the creative decisions of AEW shows. Meanwhile, only time will tell whether Khan will take notice of the request by Jake “The Snake” Roberts. Lately, Tony has done insurmountable efforts to strengthen the creative team and book the show in a better way in the forthcoming future.

Anytime he is on camera he’s a liability now.

The reactions of fans indicate how they hate to see Roberts on AEW TV and even work backstage. Whereas, Jake has expressed ultimate love for the company on countless occasions. Meanwhile, it all depends on Tony Khan, as he is the ultimate decision-maker in the end. Henceforth, it remains to be seen what the future beholds for The Snake.
