Both Tony Khan and Vince McMahon have worked sweat and tears to bring their promotions to their absolute best. Working for the wrestling industry, the fans expect the two leaders to stay in the best possible shape. Fans also are up with the idea of them flaunting a wrestling move on their stars.
Before Vince McMahon could please the audience with their strength-based demands, Tony Khan grabbed the opportunity. Back in 2019, in one of the dark segments post AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan shook the wrestling world when he dropped a stunner on Shawn Spears. The segment grabbed a lot of attention from the fans who took shots at Vince McMahon’s athleticism.
Something Mr. McMahon would never do even in his prime.

I thought Vince’s involvement in Stunners was the least athletic thing I’ve ever seen, but now there’s this.

Better than Vince’s stunner if you ask me

Vince McMahon may be widely recognized in the WWE as the CEO for most of his tenure. However, Vince has been a performer inside the squared circle facing stars such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shane McMahon, and Shawn Michaels. However, these are things of the past and Vince is not seen in any kind of action role in the WWE ring.
Dude, I had no idea that was happening. Cody called me out, I went to thank the crowd, Nick asked me if I wanted to do a stunner, I said no, then Spears was screaming my name and calling for it, then I heard people in the crowd calling for it, and at that point, I had no choice.

While there were many people who dissed the AEW President for practicing an untrained move, Tony revealed that the segment was instantaneous. Both Shawn Spears as well as the audience went bonkers to watch Tony deliver a stunner and he did that in the heat of the moment. However, the segment did exceptionally well for the promotion and that is a real success for Tony Khan.
Vince McMahon and Tony Khan have both taken shots at each other
Both AEW and WWE are progressing at a great rate and the credit for the same goes to Tony Khan and Vince McMahon. With this being said, it is, but obvious, that the two companies are in tough competition with each other causing a rift between the members of the two promotions. Both Vince and Tony do not hold themselves back from taking shots at each other.
“I don’t consider them competition in the way that I would consider WCW back in the day,” said Vince McMahon on the WWE Q2 Earnings Call. He additionally taunted the AEW President and said that he would gladly send some more stars from WWE to AEW.
Thanks to you wrestling fans and your great support of @AEW, I’m grateful to now be the longest-tenured CEO in pro wrestling.

Similarly, Tony Khan is a man who speaks what he feels is correct. He took his revenge as soon as Vince announced his retirement. Khan took to Twitter and wrote, “Thanks to you wrestling fans and your great support of AEW, I’m grateful to now be the longest-tenured CEO in pro wrestling.” All this is just a trailer of what is to come in the upcoming years.
