Scott Foster is a veteran NBA official well-known by NBA media and players. Despite his seniority and experience in the field of officiating games, he is not well acknowledged and respected by the stars from across the league. In fact, he even seems to have some sort of personal vendetta for Chris Paul, who hasn’t been winning many games officiated by Foster throughout his career.
Chris Paul isn’t the only player who has a problem with how Scott Foster operates. However, since his next game will be officiated by Foster, interest and attention have been generated toward the NBA referee. That said, let us take a closer look at his accomplishments and how the players actually feel about him.
NBA Players vote for Scott Foster as the worst referee in the league
It would interest fans to know that Foster is currently in his 29th year as a league official after having entered the NBA in the 1994-1995 season. He has officiated in over 1700 games so far and is considered to be one of the most experienced referees in the NBA.
Despite his impressive resume, Foster isn’t considered a good referee by most players. In fact, he has won multiple voting poles in recent years for being the worst referee in the NBA. Moreover, he has garnered the most votes by a landslide compared to the other referees across the league.

This makes one wonder why the players have a problem with Foster. According to several players like Chris Paul, Paul Pierce, and James Harden, Foster has an inherent bias toward the stars in the league. Pierce even once revealed that Foster usually supported the road team in order to “stick it” to the home team.
The NBA makes it a policy to protect its employees. Therefore, Scott Foster has never faced any scrutiny from the media or players, with the exception of those voting poles. However, one should wonder if it is time for that to change. At the moment, the Suns are still heavily favored and expected to win their next game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
They will try to defend homecourt after failing in Game 1, something that Foster might not make too easy. If this trend continues, we hope this issue is investigated and quickly resolved by the league.
