Usman Nurmagomedov is the younger cousin of Khabib Nurmagomedov. The former UFC lightweight champion has been helping Usman Nurmagomedov in his mixed martial arts journey and has always been on his side in his MMA bouts. Usman Nurmagomedov is the younger brother of Umar Nurmagomedov, who made his UFC debut back in January of 2021. Meanwhile, Usman made his Bellator debut at Bellator 255.
Usman Nurmagomedov is a seasoned grappler who often relies on his ability to strike in order to dominate his opponents. Usman has shown incredible improvements over the course of his MMA career and currently remains undefeated with 15 straight wins to his name.
Usman Nurmagomedov will look to create history as he takes on Patricky Freire for the Bellator Lightweight Championship at Bellator 288.

As was the case in Usman Nurmagomedov’s fight against Svyatoslav Shabanov at UFC Fight Night Global & GFC where Khabib Nurmagomedov could be seen screaming at Usman for not going with his gameplan of trying to grapple with his opponent, but rather choosing to engage in a striking battle. While Usman once again picked up a stoppage win, winning the bout in the second round, Khabib Nurmagomedov certainly did not look too impressed with his cousin Usman.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has made a name for himself in the world of mixed martial arts owing to his extremely dominant grappling inside the Octagon. He is not an explosive striker, or someone with vicious knockout power, on the contrary, Nurmagomedov is quite predictable. However, despite that, it speaks highly of his incredible skill-set that no fighter has been able to give him so much as a challenge to Khabib.
Usman Nurmagomedov is not someone who is as predictable as his teammates like Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov might be. He relies heavily on his striking and mixes his game incredibly well. At just 24 years of age, he has shown incredible improvements, and the future looks bright for yet another “Nurmagomedov” in the cage.
