Jimmy Butler has grown in terms of popularity greatly over the last few years. He has managed to carry the Miami Heat on their second trip to the NBA Finals over the last 3 years. This is a feat that no NBA analyst or even the media saw coming until it hit us.
After all, Jimmy really didn’t show many signs of instant NBA stardom when coming into the league. It was a very difficult and vigorous process for him to get to the level he is today. It was even harder for him, in a manner of speaking, during his early years. Especially since his mother kicked him out of the house.
Some fans might have already heard about this story. While others might not. Therefore, let us take a closer look at Jimmy’s backstory and why he was kicked out of his house.
When did Jimmy Butler get kicked out of his house?
Many of us take the basic essentials of life such as having a warm home and loving family for granted. This is clearly not the situation for the rest of the world as many people go through incredible hardships and difficulties due to events that are simply out of their control.

It seems that is exactly what happened to the Miami Heat star when he was only 13 years old. He revealed years later that his mother kicked him out of the house simply because she didn’t like the way he looked. In fact, her exact final words to him were “I don’t like the look of you. You gotta go.”
One can only imagine how that would have impacted a young 13-year-old child. Butler might have been destined to die on the streets. Thankfully, he had enough friends to make sure that never happened while also keeping his basketball career alive. Much of his teenage years were spent living with the family of his friend named Jordan Leslie.

As a result of this, Butler soon gained another family. He struggled to make a name for himself and was only selected as the 30th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. Although we never found out if there was any other reason that Jimmy’s mother disowned him, he shared that they have connected once again in recent times.
