UFC Fight Night: Kevin Holland vs Marvin Vettori featured a welterweight bout between Platinum Mike Perry and Daniel Rodriguez. The fans of platinum were expecting a comeback from Mike Perry. However, they were disappointed yet again as Rodriguez put on a brutal beating on Mike Perry for the majority part of the fight.
Mike Perry joined MMA Masters following his last loss to Tim Means. Former interim welterweight champion also trains at the same gym, which gave the fans hope that Perry will be able to get back on the winning column by beating Daniel Rodriguez.

And Perry looked in great shape for this fight. He seemed durable and well-conditioned. But, he did not look sharp on his feet and absorbed a lot of punches on the feet. Perry’s head movement was not impressive and he paid a huge price for it. Rodriguez punished Mike Perry with vicious jabs and broke his nose again.
Perry also suffered a nasty cut on his head in the second round. He also got rocked multiple times in the fight but Rodriguez was unable to finish the fight.
What’s next for Mike Perry?
The biggest positive for Mike Perry from this fight was his ground game. Perry secured a huge takedown against Rodriguez and was able to control him on the ground for a significant amount of time. He also went for takedowns in the following rounds but was unable to do significant damage with it.

With this loss, Mike Perry has now four losses in his last five fights. And he suffered multiple injuries in this fight as well. This raises concern surrounding his longevity and whether he still got what it takes to compete against the top UFC welterweights.
