Those in the UK will be able to catch this massive matchup on BT Sport. Whereas, fans in other European countries can stream the UFC 284 event on DAZN. Australian fans who can’t attend the show at the RAC Arena can also catch it on Main Event, Kayo Sports, Fetch TV, or UFC PPV on Fight Pass.
Capturing gold in the UFC is never easy, in any weight division. At any given time, at least half a dozen challengers, all equally worthy, circle the champion, vying for a chance at UFC gold. Despite this, at UFC 284, Alexander Volkanovski seeks to do something even more difficult. He is trying to become only the 8th-ever UFC double champion by moving up to lightweight.

The only thing in Volkanovski’s way is Islam Makhachev. Unfortunately, for the P4P #1 fighter, Makhachev is extraordinarily skilled, ending Oliveira’s 11-fight win streak in October and tapping out Dan Hooker before that. Will Alexander “The Great” triumph over the Dagestani champion? Or will the UFC have a new P4P king in Perth when all is said and done?
When is Alexander Volkanovski vs Islam Makhachev?
With so much hype and anticipation for the fights, fans can’t wait for Feb 12. But exactly when will UFC 284 begin? The early prelims for UFC 284 at the RAC Arena in Perth will air at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT. The prelims will kick off at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The main card will begin, 2 hours after prelims kick-off, at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
All the pomp and circumstance surrounding this fight stems from the skill level of the fighters involved. Makhachev belongs to the same Dagestani wrestling and grappling pedigree that made Khabib Nurmagomedov the UFC’s undefeated lightweight champion in the past. Islam displayed this aspect perfectly in Abu Dhabi.
On the other hand, Alexander Volkanovski regularly trains with UFC champions and top 10 contenders. He regularly trains with the dominant former UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, and UFC lightweight Dan Hooker. The UFC featherweight champion also decisively ended his trilogy with Max Holloway at UFC 276. Volkanovski won that fight via a dominant unanimous decision, 50-45, winning all 5 rounds.
