UFC Vegas 25 featured a light heavyweight showdown between Jiri Prochazka and Dominick Reyes. And what a fight it was. It won’t be wrong to say that it was one of the best main event fights in 2021.
Jiri Prochazka made a huge statement with a vicious KO win over the former number one light heavyweight title contender. With this win, Prochazka has now two wins in UFC and both of his opponents have fought for the title in the past.
What’s more shocking is he is only 28 years old and he just demolished Dominick Reyes who beat Jon Jones as per one judge and many fans.
The fight was extremely entertaining with both Reyes and Prochazka landing some nasty shots. Reyes rocked Prochazka multiple times as well. But, Prochazka never stopped coming forward with his unorthodox striking.
Though Reyes was landing some great strikes Jiri was just too violent and precise with his striking. And in the end, he got left Reyes unconscious inside the ring with a spinning elbow.
Following the win over Dominick Reyes, Jiri Prochazka got a call out from the champion, Jan Blachowicz who offered a title shot to the rising star of the division. Jan Blachowicz tweeted:
“Hey Jiri, Me vs You in Cieszyn. Prince vs Samurai, Sword vs Katana.”
Though Jan Blachowicz is already aiming for the title fight against Jiri Prochazka he made it clear that Glover Texiera is his next opponent.

And it does not look like Prochazka is in a hurry to fight for the title. When asked about fighting for the prestigious UFC light heavyweight championship, Prochazka said:
“For me these title shots, fighting, matchmaking not so important. For me it’s important to the journey, to enjoy the opponents. enjoy sharing the cage with the hard opponents, and that’s why I like it. This fight was great. But I enjoy Dominick’s fight IQ. I have new skills, new things that I need to learn.”

Jiri Prochazka responded to Blachowicz’s tweet during the post-fight press conference and said:
“I think I deserve that fight. But my journey in the UFC is so quick I am not enjoying that so much. Like I won. But I think yeah I deserve that title fight.”
Jiri Prochazka is a nightmare matchup for most of the current UFC light heavyweights. However, there are some exciting fights for him before he fights for the title and one of them is against Alexander Rakic.
Rakic might have had a lackluster performance against Thiago Santos but he is a world-class striker just like Jiri Prochazka. And a fight between these two will be nothing less of a spectacle.
