Joe Rogan is an extremely controversial character due to his take on sensitive matters. Rogan is a comedian, podcaster, actor, reality tv host, and combat sports commentator with the premiere Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion, UFC. However, most of the world knows him for his famous podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.” It has earned him worldwide fame and also a lot of scrutiny. One of the instances of major scrutiny came when Rogan had a feud with CNN.
Rogan has always encouraged listeners to turn away from listening to established media outlets such as CNN. The UFC commentator revealed that such news outlets publish stories that parallel their monetary interests. Needless to say, the comments were not well received as CNN made him the centerpiece of their COVID-19 coverage and how Joe Rogan’s stance on mass vaccination could be spreading misinformation.
During his podcast, Joe Rogan added that he was against young and healthy people taking the vaccination. But not just that, Rogan also endorsed a medicine called Ivermectin which was labeled as a horse dewormer. Hence, CNN displayed a video, in which Joe Rogan talked about his COVID diagnosis, to prove their point of Rogan spreading misinformation.
Joe Rogan accuses CNN of altering his COVID diagnosis video
Joe Rogan announced that he has tested positive for COVID on September 1, 2020. The comedian did it in a video that he posted on his Instagram account. The Instagram original video was normally shot where Rogan’s natural skin tone was visible. However, in the video that CNN used in their news piece, Rogan’s skin looked discolored and grey which made it seem like he was physically unwell.
Joe Rogan took notice of the difference between color grading and decided to share it with his vast audience on Instagram. While he did not give any elaborate response on the matter in the caption, Rogan simply wrote, “Yellow Journalism,” followed by “#fakenews.” So it was pretty apparent that the $150 million rich comedian was accusing the news organization of tempering with his video.

Later in 2022, Joe Rogan also added that the public has finally taken away their trust from CNN. From questioning their honesty to slamming them for their way of broadcasting, Rogan left no stone unturned to criticize the major news outlet. Rogan also admitted that he used to be a regular CNN consumer at one point and then he stopped due to the organization turning on him.
He added, “Stop this editorial perspective with guys like Brian Stelter and Don Lemon that nobody listens to… Nobody is, like, chiming in saying, ‘Oh yeah, finally we get the voice of reason.’ Nobody thinks that… If you’re in business and your business is the news and you want to get more people to pay attention, you should be honest… And my thoughts for CNN, my advice to them: I don’t hate CNN. I used to go to them every day for the news until they start f—-ng hatin’ on me… If you want to do better, just f—-ng change your model, change the way you do it.” (h/t via New York Post)
