UFC Vegas 49: Islam Makhachev vs Bobby Green – Fight Breakdown
The fight is very significant for the lightweight division. Islam Makhachev will look to continue the legacy his mentor and friend Khabib Nurmagomedov left. Although Makhachev isn’t undefeated, his fighting style mirrors Nurmagomedov’s. Hence, a win this Saturday may be enough to secure the next title shot.
Makhachev has already revealed his intention to take Green down and talk trash to him. However, will he be able to do it to the UFC veteran? Green is in a unique position. He finds himself in a basically no. 1 title contender fight. Green is not even ranked at the moment.
Hence he will most definitely try to make the most of the opportunity and fight for the title. The key for him to upset the betting favourite is striking efficiency and a good guard. At one point or another, the fight will hit the ground. It is imperative for Bobby Green to maintain his composure and not buckle under the weight of the division.
