Jan Bachowicz and Alex Pereira may have landed themselves in a once-in-a-lifetime position. The two guys are presently slated to compete in UFC 291’s co-main event. It will be the Polish fighter’s first fight since a contentious draw with Magomed Ankalaev. That battle was for the vacant light heavyweight belt at the time.
The 205-pound weight class was left with no champion after Jamahal Hill shocked UFC fans by announcing his intention to quit his divisional title due to a significant Achilles tendon injury. At UFC 291, the promotion has an opportunity to crown one.
Alex Pereira stands strong at a 7-2 professional fighting record with 4 win streak in UFC before losing against Adesanya. Pereira claimed his middleweight title from Israel Adesanya at UFC 281 later losing it to Adesanya in a rematch at UFC 287.
In a recently uploaded video on Alex Pereira’s page, Pereira was seen almost drowning veteran fighter, Glover Teixeira. Pereira and Teixiera headed to a mountain in Salt Lake City for a brief practice session. Alex Periera seemed to be a good shape and motivated for his fight against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 291.
In what looked like a good sparring session, Periera was seen drowning Glover for a mere joke. Fans reacting to it stated,“These guys are clinically insane what kind of training is this?”. Check out how fans considered it to be a fun session.

The light heavyweight category desperately needs stability, credibility, and, most importantly, a cause for fans to invest. That reason might belong to Alex Pereira, a former middleweight champion who earned the belt by defeating Israel Adesanya. However, the UFC is yet to announce that Pereira vs Blachowicz is for the light heavyweight title.
UFC slated Alex Pereira vs. Jan Blachowicz at UFC 291 as a title fight in a mere typo error
Fans were taken aback when it was announced that light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill would be vacating his title to rehab an injury. With this division wiped out by injuries, fans worried how the promotion would proceed with the now-vacant title.
Alex Pereira is slated to take on Jan Blachowicz at UFC 291 on July 29 but fans were amused when they saw an ad on Facebook claiming their fight as a title fight.
In the Facebook post, UFC 291 stated as featuring two championship fights, with Dustin Poirier vs. Justin Gaethje 2 for the BMF title, meaning that the co-main event between Bachowicz and Pereira is also for a belt.

As per reports from MMA Mania, unfortunately for those hoping to see Jan Bachowicz or Alex Pereira reclaim the belt, it appears that this was only a typo error on the part of the UFC. MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn stated the UFC 291 co-main event is still scheduled to be a three-round non-title fight.
UFC official tells me this is a typo and Blachowicz vs. Pereira currently remains a three-round, non-title fight. #UFC291 https://t.co/rZEMbwUYre

Moreover, as the fight is to be considered, fans will look forward to the fight with anticipation. It is certain that a resolution would be made for the vacant light heavyweight title sooner than later.
