Viana recently shared her new look on social media, changing her hair color and adding dreadlocks. The MMA community wasn’t quite impressed by her decision and was quick to troll the 31-year-old mixed martial artist. Many stated that she should be focusing more on her training, having lost her last two fights in a row and being unranked in the division.
Gillian Robertson beat Polyana Viana via TKO at UFC 297
Polyana Viana last stepped into the octagon at UFC 297 in Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She faced Gillian Robertson, who is now ranked No. 15 in the strawweight division. Gillian also competed in the flyweight division of the UFC, holding a record for most finishes and submissions in UFC women’s flyweight division history. Also having the most submission wins in UFC women’s history.
The Canadian fighter didn’t disappoint her home crowd and stood up to her reputation. Polyana did show good striking in the beginning, but couldn’t keep the momentum going and was taken down by Gillian. Viana saved herself from a first-round submission finish by displaying good defense and technique.

In the second round, Polyana struggled again with her takedown defense and fell prey to the Canadian mixed martial artist. This was followed by a series of vicious ground and pound that left Viana battered. The bout ended in a TKO victory through heavy elbows and stoppage by the referee. This would be Robertson’s 11th finish in 13 professional MMA bouts.
Having won three of her last four fights, all via finishes, could boost Gillian’s chances of entering the title picture. For Viana, things don’t seem to go well, having lost three of her last four fights. She would be looking to make improvements in the areas of her takedown defense and wrestling, which could be seen as a reason for her recent downfall.
