Nate Diaz might have lost his last fight against Leon Edwards at UFC 263, but his stock did not take a major hit after the loss.
Leon Edwards dominated the entire fight up until the final two minutes of round five. And that was enough for the fans to see Nate Diaz as a threat to the rest of the welterweights.
Nate Diaz rocked Leon Edwards and was very close to finish him in the final round. It should also be considered that Diaz was coming off an injury and he claimed that he did not have an ideal training camp for the fight. And that has led the fans to speculate how would Nate Diaz do against other welterweights in UFC.

Recently, Gilbert Burns called out Nate Diaz, Leon Edwards, and Jorge Masvidal. In response. Nate Diaz stated that he would rather fight Kamaru Usman who knocked out both Gilbert Burns and Jorge Masvidal. Diaz stated: “I’d rather fight the guy who knocked you guys out”.

Gilbert Burns fires back at Nate Diaz
In response, Gilbert Burns goes on a rant about Diaz ducking him and also trolled him for his MMA record. Burns stated:
“That’s what I thought, you don’t want no smoke! So don’t say my name anymore b***h a** fake gangster! So many losses you have already! And your teammates that I already beat know what I would do to you! Keep playing smart and save.”
Gilbert Burns is coming off an impressive win against Stephen Thompson in the co-main event of UFC 264. Burns has a KO loss to Kamaru Usman and if he is to fight for the title again he needs a couple more dominant wins in the division.

And it makes sense that he is going after Diaz who is a biggest name in the division. However, why would Diaz fight Gilbert Burns when the champion Kamaru Usman and his manager Ali Abdelaziz has called him out earlier?
Nate Diaz has not won any fight in the welterweight division since his win against Anthony Pettis he is a star in the division. But he is arguably one win away from a potential title fight at the welterweight division. It won’t be even insane to see him getting a title shot right away as Kamaru Usman has beaten most of the top contenders in the division.

But Dana White has already confirmed that Kamaru Usman will be defending his title against Colby Covington next. And a lot would depend on the outcome of that rematch.
