The UFC lightweight took to Twitter to make a startling revelation after he accused Islam Makhachev of cheating at UFC 284. Hooker alleged that Islam Makhachev used IV fluids after a horrible weight cut at UFC 284.

The UFC lightweight champion picked up a unanimous decision victory against Alexander Volkanovski in the main event of UFC 284 in Perth, Australia this past weekend. However, the decision was met with a loud uproar from UFC fans on social media who argued Makhachev did not do enough to get his hand raised.

Now, Dan Hooker has come out on Twitter and alleged how Makhachev used IV fluids to rehydrate himself during the 24-hour window between the official weigh-ins and the PPV in Australia.
Did Islam Makhachev cheat at UFC 284?
USADA can suspend fighters for up to 2 years if found guilty of IV use. Hooker accused “Islam is a cheat” and claimed that he hired a nurse in Australia after the horrible weight cut at UFC 284 that saw Makhachev drop to tears while stepping on the scale. Hooker also challenged Makhachev to prove him wrong in a series of tweets.

Islam Makhachev had a very hard time cutting weight for UFC 284 and left many fans convinced that he would have a hard time in the Octagon considering there’s a 36-hour window to rehydrate in the United States as compared to 24 hours in Australia. The window exceeds the 36-hour mark in Abu Dhabi, where Makhachev competed in his last fight where he submitted Charles Oliveira to become the UFC Lightweight Champion.
Islam Makhachev has not reacted to Dan Hooker’s tweet. Meanwhile, Alexander Volkanovski has also not responded to the claims made by his teammate at City Kickboxing. As for the fans, it has created a stir on social media with wild reactions from fight fans around the world.
