UFC commentator Joe Rogan has gone to prison? Why did Rogan have to go to prison? What crime did he commit? Apparently, a huge misunderstanding has taken place leading people to believe that the American podcaster has gone to prison.
Nothing of the sort has happened. In fact, Rogan invited a guest over on his podcast who told stories about his time in prison. On the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ MMA show #121, UFC fighter Bobby Green made an appearance. The fighter was on the show with his father Jacob Behney. However, Behney is not Bobby’s biological father.
The misunderstanding that has taken place among people involved a story told by Behney. A stunning story from his time in prison shocked Rogan. He talked about how he had fought off two men who were after his life.

He said, “I am sitting in my cell, I am getting ready to go to court. Two huge-a** guys, they are talking to each other about trying to get me. But they don’t know it’s me. So, I am sitting there, I am listening to everything they’re going to do and how they’re gonna try to set this sh*t up and I am sitting right in front of them. They’re not even realizing it’s me. And I am thinking, honestly, I’m like they’re big motherf***ers, they can take me out. There’s only so much you can do.”
Behney explained how even his own cellmate knew about the attack but did not tell him. Luckily someone from the next cell informed him about it and he got himself ready. He staved off the attackers. He even choked one of them to death. No charges were levied because it was done in self-defense.
UFC fighter Bobby Green talks about facing racism in prison just like Jacob Behney
On the podcast, Bobby Green also talked about the days he faced in prison. Green served a 90-day sentence in prison a good few years ago. He talked about the racism that is prevalent in prisons and how you are divided according to your race.
According to the cell rules, Green said, people in the prison could sit, eat, and trade with people only of their own races. However, he was disturbed by the fact that it was always everyone against black people. He told Joe Rogan:
“It’s always all of them against us. It sucked to be black in those times. I’m telling you real s**t. We thump though, we thump. So, we knocked them out.”

Even Behney was unaware that something like this existed. Behney interacted with someone of a different race and it led to a fight that could have almost got him killed. However, as explained above, one of the men in the prison did lose their life. Behney also talked about how gangs have taken over prisons, especially the one in California.
