Israel Adesanya has been under the backlash of fight fans for one or the other reason. After being criticized for his “boring” title fight against Jared Cannonier, Adesanya received the wrath of UFC fans after allegedly getting spotted with a “gyno” on his right pectoral muscle ahead of UFC 281 fight against Alex Pereira.
Moreover, looking at his past history with Alex Pereira in the kickboxing ring, fans are of belief that UFC 281 will see the downfall of the Stylebender. For those who have drawn parallels to the upcoming fight by watching the two kickboxing bouts, Adesanya has one word for them, “stupid!”

For those trying to predict the outcome of this fight just on the basis of the last two times Izzy has faced Alex Pereira, Adesanya has a word or two. “The way you defend is different. The way you attack is different. It’s kinda stupid. Not disrespect to kickboxing, but I feel like they attack like really, like they fight aggression with aggression. And it’s not always the best way to fight, I am too calculated and smart for that.”
“I always felt like my style of fighting was better suited for MMA.” The Middleweight Champion added. “I know he is good at stuff like that as well, but I have been doing it for longer.” He said.
Israel Adesanya believes experience inside the Octagon will be the key to beating Alex Pereira at UFC 281
Not just the fact that Izzy believes his style of striking is more suited to mixed martial arts, but the clear gap in experience, when compared to Alex Pereira, will be the key to beating the Brazilian fighter. While one cannot deny Periera has been a touch above the Stylebender on both occasions, it’s safe to say Adesanya has more equipped and far more superior when it comes to mixed martial arts.

Having said that, there’s literally no other way to gauge the difference between both the fighters except for their kickboxing bouts. While it might not reflect the outcome of a mixed martial arts fight, it does tell us that Pereira can knock the lights out of the Stylebender if he connects at UFC 281, and that’s saying something!
Whether or not Pereira can do it at UFC 281, only time will tell.
