When Lee was a toddler, her parents split, and she was forced to live with her mother, who later got married again. She relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana, after graduating from Queen City High School, and there she finally explored martial arts.

She has faced a lot of hardships in her life and has also been allegedly assaulted by her husband, Donny Aaron. The UFC community was in shock when they read about these reports and called for Andrea to leave her husband. Not only that he has also been involved in other controversial topics.
Andrea Lee explains controversial tattoo of estranged husband
UFC flyweight Andrea Lee’s former coach and estranged spouse, Donny Aaron, gained unwelcome attention due to several factors, including his Nazi tattoos, violent past, and allegations of domestic abuse against Lee. The UFC community did not hold back with their anger and hatred towards him and were vocal on social media and on the internet.
Aaron was a police officer in the past, but his record is tarnished by a 2009 shooting death that led to a negligent homicide conviction. Despite her assertions that her husband’s obvious swastika tattoo wasn’t indicative of racism, ‘KGB”s defense of it in 2018 sparked controversy and increased public scrutiny.
Please read my full apology, this is to everyone who was upset or offended by me and my initial response. I sincerely apologize, it wasn’t thought out when I sent it, I deleted it immediately after I sent it when I was more rational and clear minded. 🙏 forgive me pic.twitter.com/9td65xNAmo

She said, “Neither one of us are racist, we have an Asian & a black guy that live with us! Oh my gosh guys it’s a tattoo he got when he was in prison, get over yourselves. He covers them up all the time & we happen to have a lake day and it makes an appearance. Sensitive a** mofos.”[via MMAJunkie].
Later, the pair issued an apology on social media using their accounts. Aaron was charged with domestic violence in the same year (2018), allegedly attacking Lee following a UFC event. He spent nine months hiding from the law before being apprehended and extradited.
Andrea Lee was allegedly assaulted by Donny Aaron
In 2018, Andrea Lee of the UFC engaged in the fight of her life, but it did not take place in the Octagon. In 2018, Andrea Lee’s husband allegedly Donny Aaron assaulted her. However, her husband, Donny Arron, was innocent until proven guilty, but the couple’s roommate, mixed martial arts athlete Andy Nguyen, provided some insight into the assault in the police report.

She said, “He was trying to choke her, but she was defending herself well. She didn’t get beat up bad, the police did take pictures of marks on her neck, wasn’t bad this time. No black eyes or anything but he has hit her before, I just wasn’t there, he was my coach and my friend. This was the first time this was in presence and I was not going to let this fly.”
Sometime before the event, the couple gained notoriety for another dubious reason when Donny Arron’s social media posts disclosed that he possessed a Nazi-related tattoo on his elbow. He was given the choice to hide it, but he chose to show it off instead and faced the wrath of the UFC community on social media. Eventually, Aaron was proven guilty and was arrested, the two have separated since that incident.
