The upcoming UFC 276 event is set to be headlined by the UFC middleweight championship bout between Israel Adesanya and Jared Cannonier. Moreover, the card will be stacked from top to bottom with some highly entertaining fights. In this piece, we will preview one such fight between Jim Miller and Donald Cerrone.
‘Cowboy’ was supposed to fight last month against Joe Lauzon however, the fight was canceled. Now, he takes on Miller on short notice after Bobby Green pulled out of the fight.
Donald Cerrone will fight Jim Miller on short-notice at welterweight on July 2nd, UFC 276.

It is worth noting that Jim Miller is undefeated in his last two fights while he has had a run to forget and is winless in his previous five fights. As a result of the same, Donald Cerrone is walking into the fight as an underdog. However, on paper Cerrone seems to have a little edge over Jim Miller thanks to the height and reach difference between the two.
Stats | Jim Miller | Donald Cerrone |
---|---|---|
Wins | 34 | 36 |
Losses | 16 | 16 |
Height | 1.73 m | 1.85 m |
Division | Welterweight | Welterweight |
Reach | 180.3 cm | 185.4 cm |
Age | 38 years old | 39 years old |
Both fighters seem to have similar career records, however, unlike his opponent, Miller seems to be unaffected by age. He overcame a young prospect with an impressive knockout in his last fight while Cerrone seems to be way past his prime. So it is safe to say, that ‘A-10’ will be looking to get yet another finish come fight night and become the fighter with the most wins in the UFC.
Can Donald Cerrone withstand Jim Miller’s pressure?
This fight basically boils down to one aspect, can Donald Cerrone endure Jim Miller’s pressure without getting hurt? If he’s able to do so, we might see ‘Cowboy’ get the better of his opponents late in the fight. However, that seems unlikely from what we’ve seen in recent times and if Cerrone fails to handle the pressure imposed by his opponent, we can certainly see Miller getting back-to-back finishes.

With that being said, while this fight might not be as fast-paced as the spectators would like, the fans can certainly look forward to seeing an interesting fight and it will be interesting to see who comes out of the fight victorious at the UFC 276. Our prediction: Jim Miller by KO/TKO.
