After the Oscar controversy, the Academy Awards awarded Will Smith with an Oscar in the Best Actor category for the movie ‘King Richard’, a biopic of Richard Williams who is the father to acclaimed and celebrated tennis athletes Serena Williams and Venus Williams.

After the world was shocked to its core given Will Smith’s outrageous behavior in one of the most prestigious award shows of all time, the American posted a public apology on all social media platforms for slapping Chris Rock and to the Williams family for staining their big night.
“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong,” said Smith as he directed his public apology to the American comedian Chris Rock.

The 54-year-old actor later went on to extend his apologies to the Williams family for tainting their special night by saying “I would like to apologize to the Williams family and my King Richard family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us. I am a work in progress.”
After the debacle that went down under at the Oscars, Serena Williams took to her Instagram to react where she posted a video of her in complete disbelief, and in the second clip said that she had to “sit down” and put down her drink to let the drama sink in.

Both Serena and Venus Williams attended the Academy Awards and were witnesses to the Smith disaster at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
What led to the Will Smith fiasco at the 2022 Oscars?
Will Smith undoubtedly stole the headlines when he stormed the stage and smacked Chris Rock while he was presenting an award at the 2022 Oscars. Will shifted the focus of the entire world to himself when he made a huge scene at the Oscars last year in 2022 after he slapped Chris Rock and more importantly, hurt the people who were listed as his well-wishers.
Chris Rock made fun of Jada and Will Smith got on stage to slap him and cursed him from his seat after. Live feed stopped on Astro because. Not scripted. Audience stunned. #Oscars pic.twitter.com/F5dN4prPfY

Regarded as one of the most highly debatable topics, the entire fiasco took place when the comedian made a joke about the American actor’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head, a result of the hair-loss condition alopecia, which led to Smith charging the stage and slapping Rock.
