Katie Boulter at present is the only player from Britain to be ranked in the top 100 on the WTA tour. Boulter reached her highest career ranking of 77 a month ago and will eagerly look to break into the top 50 this season. The 26-year-old reached the third round in the ongoing Wimbledon championships while losing to Elena Rybakina. Although Boulter is out of the singles contention, she will be now focusing on mixed doubles.
Boulter played the mixed doubles competition along with her boyfriend, Alex De Minaur who is the 15th seed in the men’s draw. De Minaur lost in the second round to Matteo Berrettini in singles and kept his hopes in the mixed doubles. However, the couple lost against Joran Vliegen and Xu Yifan (3-6, 6-4, 6-7).

Boulter and De Minaur made their relationship public in March 2021. They have been known to be avid supporters of each other’s careers. The couple regularly celebrate their milestones through social media and have been together for over 3 years now. They are not married but have been the latest power couple at Wimbledon.
From friends on tour to mixed doubles at Wimbledon
The pair had met in 2020 on tour and were initially friends. They started dating after a few months and also started practicing together. Even though both have a busy life on tour, they still show up in each other’s matches and share the ups and downs together. Boulter is two years elder than De Minaur and is a few centimeters shorter than him. She stands at 5 foot 11 inches while her better half is at 6 feet.
The couple has been so far impressive in their outing at Wimbledon. They are playing together for the first time and had a perfect start to their mixed doubles career. Both have prior experience in doubles events as the Australian had reached the semifinals at the Libema Open a few weeks back. While Boulter last played a doubles match in 2021.
The young pair failed to capitalize on the opportunity as playing together at the oldest tennis event is itself special. This tournament however ignited a second innings into their relationship as they soon became the crowd’s favorite. With Boulter’s powerful serve and De Minaur’s quick feet, they indeed make up a resilient pair.
