Danielle Collins is not having the best of seasons this year. Her form has been going down in recent matches and it appears to have an impact on her. Collins had an outburst in one of her matches at Montreal. She was playing against Maria Sakkari who hit a ball outside the court in frustration. Collins was furious and said it could hit the spectators when Sakkari replied it didn’t. The reply prompted Collins to scream “Shut up” as the crowd watched the players vent out their anger.
Both players even shared a handshake at the nets after the match. But Collins did not stop there. She went ahead and posted a video of the match with the song “back off b*tch” by Guns N’ Roses playing in the background. Fans reacted to her video by saying, “This is Borderline Bipolar or just borderline, definitely not something normal.” Sakkari has not come out with a response to the video.
This is borderline bipolar. Or just borderline. Or something. But definitely not normal behavior. https://t.co/QcfYeJEXdF

A win yes. But a nasty attitude and so very rude to @mariasakkari. Not cool. 🤢

The video showed Collins winning an excruciating rally against Sakkari. The pair has played thrice on tour with Collins securing her lone victory during their meeting at Montreal. It is unclear as to why Collins posted the video with the particular song. The fans will be expecting to see her in a different personality at the upcoming events.
Danielle Collins looks forward to a revival at US Open
Collins made her grand slam debut at the 2014 US Open and played at the major again in 2016. The first grand slam she played other than the US Open was the 2018 French Open. Her first major victory came in the 2019 Australian Open, where she reached the semifinals. Since then, Collins began moving to the top and was ranked No.7 in July last year. Now, she is ranked No.34 as constant injuries made her fall back in the rankings.
The fourth-ranked American jumped 14 places after her performance at Montreal. She is yet to win a title this year and needs at least a thousand points to enter the top twenty. Collins will need to reach the semifinals or quarterfinals at Cincinnati at least to aim for a top-twenty finish by the end of the season. She will be playing in her eighth US Open this year.
Collins has been improving each time she plays at the season-ending event. She has made her mark at the French Open and Australian Open. This time Collins can make a move at the US Open. She reached the fourth round last year while defeating Naomi Osaka in the opening match. Collins needs to hit her form to come back as a top contender on the tour.
