American tennis star Coco Gauff and her love for Atlanta runs deep. Even though she was raised in Delray Beach, Florida, Coco remembers her roots in Atlanta. She spent the first seven years of her life there and her father even played basketball for Georgia State University.
Gauff is giving back to the city she loves. She has partnered with Storm Reid, one of the stars of the HBO hit show The Last of Us, to breathe life into a public park. Reid is also a native of Atlanta.
The two of them are going to invest in the renovation of sports facilities at Brownwood Park. The park is an under-resourced public park, and Gauff’s involvement will give it a second life.
Can’t wait to see Brownwood Park transform over the next year 💚 Thank you to the city of Atlanta, the Mayor’s office, @eastatlantakids and NB for a great day helping us create a space for the next generation of dreamers. #dreambig @stormreid pic.twitter.com/Taa19m4mWm

This is what the star had to say, following the exhibition match with Leylah Fernandez, “They’ve made me the person I am 100%. Moving from Atlanta to South Florida was a big change, but I love the culture. Being a black woman in tennis & having the support from all the people in Atlanta means a lot to me.”
Gauff credits Atlanta for making her who she is today. The 2022 Roland-Garros finalist was in Atlanta on Sunday to oversee the park’s renovations. It is a remarkable gesture, one of giving back to the people you love so much.
Coco Gauff’s concerted efforts to renovate tennis courts
Rising tennis star Coco Gauff has tried her best to help renovate tennis courts. She donated $1000 to fellow American tennis player Madison Keys’ foundation. The Madison Keys Kindness Wins Foundation was aiming to raise $10,000 for the purpose of renovating tennis courts.
Kindness Wins is a non-profit organization started in 2020. They were trying to raise funds on the occasion of Kindness Wins Day when Gauff helped them out.
Your kindness means so much @CocoGauff! Thank you for your very generous $1000 donation to #KindnessWinsDay. It’s going to help us give SO many more kids the opportunity to play this great sport 🎾❤️ pic.twitter.com/UfVPu15RyI

Gauff explained the foundation and its objectives on her Instagram stories. She then urged her followers to donate to this cause as well.
It is heartwarming to see an up-and-coming tennis player do so much for the sport she loves. Coco Gauff’s initiative will ensure the public too can get a slice of the enjoyment she feels with a racket in her hand. The teenager is serving on and off the court.
