Former tennis star Serena Williams embraced motherhood for the second time in her life earlier this year. It is not easy to raise a child, but Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, are setting an example. While Serena is discovering the highs of raising two children, she has also discovered something else: the apparent healing powers of breast milk.
Williams welcomed her second daughter, Adira River, in August of this year. Her life has been a whirlwind ever since, but she is handling it with the grace of a champion.
Serena is active on social media and took to TikTok to share something with her fans on the app. She shared a clip of herself describing an ordeal she endured and how she eventually overcame it. What was the secret behind the remedy? Breast milk, of course.
@serena Ok is this totally weird??? I have to say after a week of using MY breast milk under my eye – it worked! I’m dying to hear your thoughts. Be nice lol 🙈 #momsoftiktok #fyp #foryourpage #serenawilliams #life #beauty #motherhood #momhumour #moms ♬ original sound – Serenawilliams
Serena was very candid during the video. She described how she got painful sunburns under her eyes from being out in the sun. Williams added that it has worked on her children in the past, speeding up their healing process. She decided that she would try it on herself for a week.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion captioned the clip with, “OK is this totally weird??? I have to say after a week of using MY breast milk under my eye — it worked!”
Serena Williams made history when she became the first athlete to win the prestigious CFDA Award. She is juggling motherhood and her other duties and responsibilities. Williams has been open about her journey through her pregnancy and her life before and after giving birth.
Serena Williams on motherhood
In a career that spanned over two decades, Serena achieved a great number of things. However, for her, motherhood has been her biggest achievement.
Serena retired from tennis in 2022, hoping to expand her family. However, she wishes she did not have to choose between her career and motherhood. She cited how men could keep their careers while becoming fathers.

“Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family,” she said (via Vogue).
Serena Williams gave birth to her oldest, Olympia, in 2017. She was two months pregnant with Olympia when she won the Australian Open. The two share an incredible bond, and Williams always speaks so fondly of both her children.
