Roger Federer has been busy in his life since he retired from the tour. He has been traveling to different places like he used to. Only this time, he has his wife, Mirka Federer, and kids accompanying him. Federer was last seen at this year’s Laver Cup and interacted with his younger peers. The Swiss maestro’s latest vacation spot has been in Japan.
Federer made a secret visit to the Kanazawa Indoor Tennis Club. He requested for his privacy during the visit. The 42-year-old even spent time on the court with former players Shingo Kunieda and Kurumi Nara. The Kanazawa club kept the news a secret as it wanted to give privacy to Federer’s family. The former world No.1 also wrote a message for the club members.

The 20-time grand slam champion is slowly getting used to retirement life. Federer last played at the 2022 Laver Cup along with Rafael Nadal while playing for Team Europe. Although they lost the match, it was the perfect farewell Federer could ask for. The fans were also thrilled to see them play, and now they can always see him at the Laver Cup. Federer will always be in touch with the sport.
Roger Federer still getting used to retirement life
The ATP tour was Federer’s home for 23 years. He turned professional in 1998 and played till 2021. Now, he is able to spend quality time with his family. The eight-time Wimbledon champion was always traveling during his active days on tour. Now, he gets to explore the world with his wife, Mirka, and children. Federer has twin girls and twin boys who get to finally see him outside the tennis court.
The Laver Cup co-founder spoke about the difficulty of ending his career. Federer said, “The hardest part about ending a career is actually the weeks & months beforehand when you’re thinking about how & where to best communicate that decision.” In their final years on tour, Federer was affected by a knee injury, which forced him to finally step away from the court.

At present, the grass court legend is making use of his time and is still being involved in the sport. Federer played a few rallies at the Laver Cup and has chances of playing exhibition matches in the future. The tennis world is missing the presence of Federer as it sees him adapting to a new lifestyle.
