SUMMARY
- Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova are former doubles champions.
- Since their split, the duo shared an icy moment during their Australian Open clash.
The Australian Open has borne witness to incredible tennis action this week. All players have given their best for ultimate glory. There has been no shortage of drama at the tournament, either. However, there was an undercurrent of something more between former partners Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Sinikova.
Krejcikova and Sinikova were longtime doubles partners and one of the most dominant teams on tour. Unfortunately, they decided to part ways after a successful season in 2023, even though the reason behind the split is still unknown.
The duo met again at the first Grand Slam of the year, but on opposite sides of the net. Despite the unbearable heat of an Australian summer, they shared one of the coldest moments at the event.

On Wednesday afternoon, they locked horns in the Margaret Court Arena for a spot in the semifinals. Sinikova teamed up with Storm Hunter and defeated Brejcikova and Laura Siegemund. They staged a remarkable comeback, despite being 3-0 down in the deciding set. Sinikova and Hunter eventually won the match 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.
Following their victory, the pair barely acknowledged each other at the net. This raised questions about the reason for their split once again. Even fans noticed the icy moment between the former partners and dubbed the moment the “coldest temperature recorded.”
Coldest temperature recorded:
